YouTube a evoluat rapid in cele 19 luni de cand a fost lansat pe piata, utilizatorii site-ului avand acces la 100 de milioane de clipuri video in fiecare zi. Compania din Silicon Valley este o mina de aur pentru Google datorita traficului mare pe care il genereaza. In plus, poate facilita accesul Google pe piata de publicitate pe Internet, unde detine o cota scazuta comparativ cu cei de la Yahoo!, principalii concurenti. Analistii apreciaza ca valoarea grupului rezultat prin combinarea celor doua companii ar putea fi enorma.
