A urmat, in 2002, fuziunea dintre filiala deja existenta pe piata romaneasca, Raiffeisen Bank, si Banca Agricola. <\/DIV><\/LI>  <LI>  <DIV align=justify><SPAN class=textgrenab>UNICREDITO<\/SPAN>, una dintre cele mai mari banci italiene, a cumparat in 2001 pachetul majoritar de actiuni al Demirbank Romania.<\/DIV><\/LI><\/UL><\/SPAN><SPAN class=text>  <P align=justify><STRONG>DEALURI RATATE<\/STRONG><\/P>  <UL>  <LI>  <DIV align=justify><SPAN class=textgrenab>OTP <\/SPAN>si <SPAN class=textgrenab>HVB BANK<\/SPAN> au depus, impreuna, o scrisoare de intentie in cadrul primei etape de privatizare a BCR, insa nu au indeplinit conditiile de precalificare. <\/DIV><\/LI>  <LI>  <DIV align=justify><SPAN class=textgrenab>PIRAEUS BANK <\/SPAN>a concurat cu OTP si fondul olandez The Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) pentru preluarea RoBank.
