Poe, scriitorul care, potrivit lui Verissimo, este \u0084inventatorul povestilor detectivistice, al parodiei dupa aceste povesti, precum si al anti-istoriilor cu detectivi\u0093. La un congres dedicat lui Poe si desfasurat la <st1:City><st1:place>Buenos Aires<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, dl. Vogelstein, profesor de literatura si traducator din <st1:City><st1:place>Porto Alegre<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> (precum Verissimo insusi), are prilejul sa il cunoasca, in carne si oase, pe idolul sau, J.L. Borges (deja orb).<\/P>  <P class=text style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">&nbsp;<\/P>  <P class=text style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-ALIGN: justify\">&nbsp;Impreuna cu acesta va incerca sa desluseasca misterul mortii profesorului german Joachim Rotkopf.
