N-am nici cea mai mica idee. Ba nu, nu-i chiar asa, am o idee: din cauza esecurilor. Oamenilor le place sa afle despre esecuri &ndash; nimic mai simplu. In special le place sa afle despre esecurile din lumea afacerilor.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>Desi fenomenul (pe care a incercat si intelepciunea populara sa-l configureze in <strong>proverbul cu capra vecinului<\/strong>) este greu cuantificabil, nu putem sa nu-i dam dreptate lui Haig. <\/p>\n<p>Cand nu doar bacanul de la colt, ci si Colgate, Dell, Exxon, Ford, Harley Davidson, Heinz, IBM, Intel, Kellog&rsquo;s, Kodak, Levi&rsquo;s, McDonald&rsquo;s, Procter &#038; Gamble, Polaroid, Sony, Unilever, Coca-Cola sau Pepsi pot cunoaste <strong>gustul amar al insuccesului<\/strong>, lumea ciuleste urechile si vrea sa afle mai mult. <\/p>\n<p>Matt Haig s-a hotarat sa faca o trecere in revista a evenimentelor care au loc atunci cand mari grupuri internationale lanseaza branduri care esueaza spectaculos si cu pierderi financiare greu de recuperat. <\/p>\n<p>Inceputul este<strong> o istorie a procesului de branding<\/strong> (pe care il defineste drept &ldquo;masura de protectie impotriva insuccesului&rdquo;, un mod de a &ldquo;pre-vinde&rdquo; produsul sau serviciul), o inseriere a pacatelor de moarte ale brandingului (amnezia, vanitatea, megalomania, oboseala, paranoia si, in fine, irelevanta) si o enumerare a ideilor preconcepute in domeniu, cum ar fi &ldquo;daca un produs este bun, el va avea succes&rdquo;, &ldquo;companiile mari vor avea mereu succes de brand&rdquo; sau &ldquo;brandurile puternice sunt cladite pe publicitate&rdquo; (publicitatea sustine brandurile, dar nu le poate ridica de la zero). <\/p>\n<p>Urmeaza apoi povestea propriu-zisa, care beneficiaza de <strong>o abordare amuzanta<\/strong>, desi realitatea din spatele ei nu e deloc vesela.
